What we are learning

Math - It’s the Math Mashup week! We’re not quite ready to move on to multiplication and division, but we want to use the next week to touch on the new 3rd grade concept of dot plots (also called line plots), review all things place value, and we’ll throw some frequency tables into the mix. And then, because #yolo, all that math will have a common theme of financial literacy. Makes perfect sense to me!

Science - Next week in Science we will continue our exploration of combining materials.  The students will have to choose materials that they believe will be best combined together to construct the strongest bridge.   

ELAR - In ELAR this week we will be applying our connection making to show that things we read can either be sorted into new learning, or learning we can attach to something we already know. In writing we are drafting our narratives and are coming close to an author celebration.  

Social Studies - We will revisit Constitution day and freedom week this week as it is one of our important recognition days this month. We will also highlight American Indian Heritage day. We will dive into our unit on Culture next!.
