- OPT IN for Health Education for K-5 Students - Please see the information linked here about upcoming health education lessons. The due date to OPT IN is TODAY, Friday, March 24th. Please reach out to our campus Counselor, Kelly Matlock, if you have any questions.
- Sonic Night - March 27th
- Field Trip - We are excited about about upcoming Field Trip to the Heard Museum in McKinney! We will be going Wednesday, May 10th. More detailed information and the permission slip will be coming home soon.
- Yearbooks - Don't forget to buy this year's Town Center Yearbook! Pre-order your yearbook before April 10th at ybpay.lifetouch.com Yearbook ID Code: 14305223. As a reminder, yearbooks are NOT included in trail pass purchases.
- Family Lunch Fridays - Our campus is open each Friday for lunch visitors! When you arrive you will sign in at the front office and receive a visitor badge that must be worn at all times. You will need a photo ID (license or passport). You will be able to eat lunch with your child at the designated tables for lunch visitors. You may only eat with your child. No other learners may be invited to eat with you. You may purchase lunch in the cafeteria or bring a lunch with you. Parents will be dismissed from the cafeteria. You will need to go back through the front office to sign out at the end of lunchtime. Please see Ms. Martin's Principal Newsletter for details on who may eat with your child and a form to fill out for non-parent lunch visitors. No lunch visitors on early release days.

Math
It just got real, folks - equivalent fractions are upon us. The kiddos have been working on comparing fractions with like denominators and also with like numerators. Now, we move on to discuss how 2 fractions that look completely different can actually represent the same fraction. Say what now?! Welcome to Crazy Bizarro Fraction World. All the fractions live in this city that’s located in between 0 and 1 on the number line, and it’s a bizarre place: full of different rules than those that apply to whole numbers. We will learn tips and tricks (Butterfly Method and Finding ½) to help us this week, and we are getting close to winding up this unit!
Science
From the depths of the ocean to the tops of trees, we will be exploring different habitats next week. We will look at what an organism gets from its environment in order to help it survive and thrive. Our fabulous DLC, Ms. Tinch, created an amazing learning journal on Keynote to help facilitate our learning adventure and showcase all the information along the way!
Reading/Writing
During our ELAR block the next few weeks, we will be reviewing literary concepts and practicing crucial test taking skills to include extended response to a prompt/text, short answer responses to literature and revising and editing completed work.
Social Studies
We will be identifying individuals who have done heroic deeds, state and national heroes and military and first responders. We will focus on product creation and research skill as we research Hector P. Garcia, James A. Lovell, the Four Chaplains, Harriet Tubman, and Todd Beamer.
