  • Teacher Appreciation Week

    Last week a ParentSquare message went out to all of our 3rd-grade from our room moms: 
    How You Can Help! We invite all of our Texans to give our teachers and staff a Texas-sized thank you. The attached kid schedule list how your Texans can show their appreciation each day.

  • TCE Spring Family Picnic

    Thursday, May 4th from 6:00-7:30 PM
    Town Center Elementary

    * Families may pack a picnic or preorder Macro's Pizza at www.tcepto.com by 10:00 AM Saturday, April 29th. Drinks and popsicles will be available for purchase at the picnic.
    * Our TCE PTO will have a DJ, raffle off the grade-level baskets, and a silent auction at the picnic. The link for the silent auction will go out in the PTO newsletter this weekend. The silent auction will go live Monday at noon and end Saturday night, 5/6, at 10:00 PM.
    * Raffle tickets for the grade-level baskets can be purchased for $1 each starting Friday, April 28th, and ending at 7:00 the night of the picnic. The baskets will be on display every day at lunch, and raffle tickets can be purchased during lunch from Mrs. Fairchild for $1 each by cash or check (made payable to TCE PTO). Each basket will have a bucket for raffle tickets that students may try to win. The winners will be drawn the night of the Spring Family Picnic, and they do not have to be present to win. 
    * Playgrounds and fields will be open, so feel free to bring yard games. Also, don't forget to bring a blanket and chairs.



  • May 6 Bond Election Information - Coppell ISD residents, who are registered to vote may cast a ballot in the May 6 Bond Election. Voters will be asked to vote "FOR" or "AGAINST" the $321.5 million bond measure on May 6. In accordance with state law, the bond referendum will be presented as four separate propositions.

  • Field Trip - We are excited about about upcoming Field Trip to the Heard Museum in McKinney!  We will be going Wednesday, May 10th.  More detailed information and the permission slip came home Friday!  Please make sure to check with your child!  


  • Family Lunch Fridays 
    - Our campus is open each Friday for lunch visitors! When you arrive you will sign in at the front office and receive a visitor badge that must be worn at all times. You will need a photo ID (license or passport). You will be able to eat lunch with your child at the designated tables for lunch visitors. You may only eat with your child. No other learners may be invited to eat with you. You may purchase lunch in the cafeteria or bring a lunch with you. Parents will be dismissed from the cafeteria. You will need to go back through the front office to sign out at the end of lunchtime. Please see Ms. Martin's Principal Newsletter for details on who may eat with your child and a form to fill out for non-parent lunch visitors
    No lunch visitors on early release days. 


  • Background Checks - If you have not had a chance to fill out a background check please fill one out for yourself or update last year's! Click here to register as a new volunteer or confirm your information from last year. This must be completed every school year for you to volunteer at the school. The district will send you an email when your background check has cleared. Any opportunities for volunteering at the school, including holiday parties, will require a cleared background check. Once completed it lasts for the remainder of the school year.  When you create your account, make sure to click on the add new application button. (see picture below)

Science 

We will continue working on our Habitat and Adaptations throughout the next 2 weeks.


Reading/Writing 

In ELAR we are going to explore the world of Fairytales, Myths, Fables, tall tales, and folktales.

After analyzing their characteristics, we will work on constructing our own “Fractured Fairy Tales”.


Social Studies 

We continue our research projects on important people in Social Studies this week. As we work on standards for product creation, we will try our hand and podcasting. This project will last a minimum of 2 weeks.
