Math

We are ready for our week of review and final STAAR practice for math! We will be reviewing for math STAAR based on your child’s heat map that was sent home Friday, April 14. In addition to reviewing your child’s areas of growth, we will make sure everyone understands all the features on the testing app and the new kinds of questions that will be given this year (not just multiple choice and fill in the blank!). Your children have learned all the 3rd grade math skills they need and are ready to shine on May 2!

Science

We will be using what we have learned about plant and animal adaptations to work on a fun project.  Our wonderful DLC, Ms. Tinch, created a Minecraft Adaptations Project.

Reading/Writing

Your children worked so hard on their state assessment this week! I couldn’t be more proud.

In ELAR we are going to explore the world of Fairytales, Myths, Fables, tall tales, and folktales.

After analyzing their characteristics, we will work on constructing our own “Fractured Fairy Tales”.

Social Studies

We continue our research projects on important people in Social Studies this week. As we work on standards for product creation, we will try our hand and podcasting. This project will last a minimum of 2 weeks.
