Please check your child(ren)'s backpack today for an informational note with details on how to donate and participate in the run. We are also including a t-shirt size sheet to return to us by Tuesday. All children will receive a free Color Run t-shirt and be able to participate in the run.

Free/Reduced Lunches

For the last two years, free and reduced meals were provided for all Texas public school children. Beginning September 29th, families must complete an application to qualify for free or reduced priced meals. For more information check out the Coppell ISD Child Nutrition website. Complete your School Meal Application here. Allow up to ten days to process your application.

Math

It’s so hard, to say goodbye, to place value…anyone hearing that Boys II Men song in your head right now? Just me? Okay, well, anywho, we are finishing up our place value unit and moving on! We will continue to review and work on the Place Value Choice Board as we get ready for our Place Value Post Test. This test will include decomposing numbers with expanded notation and expanded form, rounding, comparing and ordering numbers, making exchanges, and understanding the base 10 relationship. Your kiddos are ready to show what they know!

Science

That’s a wrap!  We will be finishing up our Properties of Matter Unit this week by focusing on mixtures.  A mixture is made from 2 or more substances that can be easily separated and keep their individual properties.

Reading/Writing

Reading: We will practice how to  listen actively, ask relevant questions to clarify information, and make pertinent comments about our reading. We will also use context within and beyond a sentence to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words and multiple-meaning words.

Writing: We are nearing the end of our personal narrative unit.  We will finish revising, editing and publishing our narratives to make our first class book!

Social Studies

In Social Studies this week we will work on significance of various ethnic and/or cultural celebrations in the local community and other communities.
