If your child reads 6 hours (360 minutes) and logs their reading (with a parent signature), they will earn a free ticket to Six Flags. This reading log is due back by February 19th to earn the Six Flags ticket.

What are we learning?

Math

In math we will be concluding our Perimeter and Area unit. We will review finding the perimeter of polygons, finding the missing side of a polygon when given the perimeter, and finding the area of rectangles and composite figures. Our post test will be taken on Wednesday, the 30th of January.

Language Arts

In Language Arts, learners will continue to study character traits. We will begin to learn about making inferences in our reading. Learners are making a character traits folder about the characters in their Book Club book.

Science

In Science, learners will continue to explore our solar system and the position of the planet in relation to the sun.  Learners will create a model to represent the planets positions.

Social Studies

In Social Studies learners will begin their State Geography Project.  Each learner will be assigned a state.  As we explore different aspects of our physical environment they will then research those in their given state.  This will continue over a couple of weeks, as we will be breaking it down and not only looking at the physical environment but how it effects people in that area.
