Multiplication Fact Masters

Today your child will be bringing home a note outlining our upcoming multiplication facts unit/expectations. We know that learning multiplication facts can be a tedious task for students, but we also know that committing these facts to memory will help them be more efficient in math not only this year, but for the years to come. All students need to be practicing their facts at home for the next two weeks and over thanksgiving break as often as possible. Starting this week, your child will be assessed on facts for 0 to 12. We will assess them through various methods including timed tests, flashcards with the teacher, or calling them out orally. We may assess students as a whole group or individually. To master facts for a certain number, students must be able to recall the facts quickly and confidently.

While we are working on mastering our facts in school, your child will need to spend time outside of school as well. We are happy to send home flashcard sets if your child needs to create flashcards. Please just let your child's math teacher know. They can also try the flashcards at tinyurl.com/mathmagiciantestreview or tinyurl.com/multiplicationfacttable. Please note that tinyural.mathmagiciantestreview does not work on Internet Explorer. It will work on Firefox or Chrome.
