TCE's 2nd Annual Cultural Night
We are excited to have our 2nd annual Culture Night at TCE.  Last year was such a great success with all the dishes you shared with our TCE community.  If you would like to share an appetizer, main dish or dessert on March 28th please sign up below. We will get back with you with more specific details as the event grows near. TCE will provide sample cups to share the dish you bring.  This event was successful because of all of our families' contributions. Thank you for making our school so great!
Be on the lookout for more information about this event including performances and interactive stations!

Parent Newsletter

Ms. Martin sends out a parent newsletter each week with many important announcements about TCE. Click here to check out this weeks newsletter.

A Note from Ms. Martin:

TCE Families,
The data analysis from the looping survey is complete, and a decision has been made in regards to the looping process at Town Center Elementary. Please click on the link below to view the Looping Report which includes a summary of the data received, conclusions, and next steps.
A special thank you to our TCE families, staff, and learners that provided feedback. I appreciate the honest and thoughtful insight that was given. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any additional questions or concerns, and I would be happy to meet with you.

Thank you,
Jennifer Martin

What are we learning?

Math

In math we will continue reviewing different ways to represent fractions. We will represent fractions using circle models, rectangular models, set of objects, and number lines. We will also begin to discuss comparing fractions. We will compare fractions with the same denominator but different numerators, and fractions with the same numerator but different denominators.

Language Arts

In Language Arts we will be learning about Author's purpose. We will be working on setting up new book clubs. Each week in LA we have been looking at reading passages aligned with the STAAR test. We are also encouraging students to be doing the Of The Week (OTW) articles, as this will help in the familiarization of STAAR passages and questions so students are used to the wording. Please encourage your learner to look at this at home each night to help aide in their practice and confidence with the passages.

Science

In science, we will be researching and showing our learning about specific types of habitats. These habitats include forest, desert, grassland, arctic tundra, pond, ocean, mountain, and wetlands.

Social Studies

In Social Studies, we will begin our unit on Economics. Learners will look at how human capital relates to types of labor and income.
