Curriculum Night Recording and FAQ
Please makes sure you have viewed our Curriculum Night recording and the FAQ document.

***Logging into Zoom with CISD Credentials***
Starting Monday, Aug. 31, CISD will be requiring all learners to sign into Zoom using their CISD email address. This change will allow for better classroom management and will limit disruptions in the event the meeting link is shared to people outside of the district.

If your child is using a Zoom account not associated with their CISD email address, the next time they sign in, they will need to use their CISD login information — g.coppellisd.com or newtech.coppellisd.com —  to join the meeting. We have created documentation for signing into Zoom with their CISD login information, which can be found here: https://coppellisdhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360053328653.

If your learner is already using their CISD email address to sign into Zoom, they will need to consolidate their account to be managed by the district. We have created documentation for consolidating the Zoom account, which can be found here: https://coppellisdhelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052551674.

Checking Grades and Comments on Schoology
We would love your help checking your child's grades on Schoology. We have explained to learners how to do this, however, an extra set of eyes is always helpful.

1. At the top of you child's Schoology home page is a red ribbon with the word "Grades". Please click that.

2. There will be a dropdown menu, please select the first option at the top, "Grade Report".

3. Once you have clicked on Grade Report, each of your child's subjects will populate for you to click on.

4. There you will see a paper icon if they have submitted an assignment, and a grade out of 3. If they have a 1 or a 2 they should go back to fix their submission. The 4 squares will take you to a rubric where you will see a comment about why they have received that score.
5. If you do not see a paper icon on the right, they have not submitted the assignment and need to do that ASAP.

Doctor's Appointments/Absences
You do not need to notify the office of any doctors appointments or absences. Any work that your kiddo misses can be completed upon their return. They will earn credit and be considered present as long as the work for the day is complete before midnight.

Our Spring Book Club Book:
Teach Your Children Well - Why Values and Coping Skills Matter More Than Grades, Trophies, or "Fat Envelopes"

Psychologist Madeline Levine brings together cutting-edge research and thirty years of clinical experience to explode once and for all the myth that good grades, high test scores, and college acceptances should define the parenting endgame. This book clarifies some of the core values and choices that are most likely to lead to authentic success rather than children that are exhausted, externally driven, and emotionally impaired children who believe they are only as good as their last performance.
