3rd Nine Weeks Commitment Form Information
Our third nine weeks commitment form process will begin on Monday, November 30. Parents and guardians will receive an email from the district on November 30. You only fill out the form if you are changing your current (second nine-week grading period) learning mode. The deadline for this form is December 9 at 11:59 p.m. The third grading period begins on January 6, 2021. Please note CISD continues to remain committed to providing our families with the choice of in-person and remote learning for their children.

December 11th is Now an Early Release Day
CISD has designated Friday, December 11, as an early dismissal day to allow our educators and staff to have additional planning time to meet the needs of our students. Elementary schools will release at 12:30 p.m. Please make pick-up arrangements for your child.

iPad Charging
Please ensure that your child is plugging in their iPad when they get home and charging it overnight. We have had an issue with a large group of learners in each class coming to school with their iPad dead. This makes charging at the same time hard and distancing even harder. We would love your help with iPads arriving at school charged.

HEADPHONES!
We have lots of kiddos who have lost/broken headphones. Please make sure that your child has a working pair of headphones for school.

A Note from Kinder and 1st - Coppell Lions Club

Kindergarten and First Grade will be working with the Coppell Lions Club to coordinate a food and toy drive at Town Center. This will help to provide food and toys for more than 100 Coppell families during the holidays. We'd love for our learners in grades K-5 to bring canned food items and/or a new, unwrapped toy to donate starting December 1st through December 15th.  If you are a face-to-face learner, you may drop your items by the TCE Giving Tree in the front of the school, and canned foods can be put in the boxes at the end of each hallway Virtual learners may call the front office at 214-496-7800 to make arrangements to drop off your donation in the front loop during school hours. THANK YOU for your support!

Town Center Yearbooks

Our 2020-2021 Town Center Yearbook is now available for purchase. The cost is $25, and they will arrive in the spring. Click here to place your order. **Please note that the yearbook cost Is NOT INCLUDED in the TCE Trail Pass.

***IMPORTANT***

Reminder from Dr. Applegate Regarding Zoom Logins

Please ask all learners to sign into Zoom with their @g.coppellisd.com account through the SSO button.

We are needing to pull guest access to our Zoom meetings (due to safety) and learners will not be able to access your Zoom meetings. We have recently learned that logging into Zoom using the Google Button doesn’t actually transfer their account into the district enterprise account. They HAVE to go through the SSO option in order to be counted in the CISD domain. We believe this may be the reason we still have approximately 6,000 learners that have not transitioned their account.

If you see a learner with (Guest) next to their name in your Zoom participant’s list, this means that they are NOT signed into their @g.coppellisd.com account in our Coppell Zoom domain and need to add their account to our domain by signing in with SSO. When you see learners with (Guest) please share the following help documentation with each of them.

FREE Meals Through December!

What are we learning?

Math: When we return from break learners will continue to review multiplication and division word problems. We will also focus on multi-step word problems, identifying the operation, and using various strategies to solve them.

Language Arts: In reading, we will be kicking off a new unit! We will be discussing different types of folktales, such as fairy tales, fables, myths, and legends! We will also begin talking about the difference between theme and main idea. We will explore themes in different folktales. We will also be kicking off a new fairy tale writing unit!

Science: This week in science we will complete our forces games and share them with the class. We will also be tracking the weather patterns for this time of year in Santiago and Coppell.

Social Studies: In social studies we will continue our unit on Geography. Learners will be practicing their map skills by creating their own map and showcasing their creations.
