Spring Picture DayThis Wednesday March 3rd is our spring picture day at Town Center. These photos are optional for ordering (yearbook photos have already been taken) and are open to both face to face and virtual learners. If your child is a virtual learner and you would like to purchase individual spring pictures, please come to the front loop in your car on Wednesday March 3rd. We will escort your child from the car to the gym for their picture then back to you. Children will be required to wear masks into and out of the building. They will take it off for their picture. Virtual learners will take photos from 10:30-11:30.
Virtual Book FairiPad ChargingPlease ensure that your child is plugging in their iPad when they get home and charging it overnight. We have had an issue with a large group of learners in each class coming to school with their iPad dead. This makes charging at the same time hard and distancing even harder. We would love your help with iPads arriving at school charged.
HEADPHONES!We have lots of kiddos who have lost/broken headphones. Please make sure that your child has a working pair of headphones for school.
Town Center Yearbooks
Our 2020-2021 Town Center Yearbook is now available for purchase. The cost is $25, and they will arrive in the spring. Click here to place your order. **Please note that the yearbook cost Is NOT INCLUDED in the TCE Trail Pass.
What are we learning?
Math: In math, we will be starting our fractions unit. We will begin by learning a variety of ways to represent fractions including circle models, rectangle models, number lines, and parts of a set. Please remember to pick up the fraction materials as well as the practice STAAR test we will be using in class starting next week. These are in a basket labelled 3rd grade pickup at the front door of the school.
Language Arts: In language arts, we will finish our character analysis unit by analyzing comparisons between characters. We will compare personality traits, how characters react to problems, and themes among similar books. We will finish the week with our character analysis post assessment.
Science: In science, we will begin researching planets. Students will pick their planet of choice and conduct research to create a planet project.
Social Studies: In Social Studies, learners will learn about Free Enterprise and what it means to be an entrepreneur. They will begin creating their own product that they would like to sell if they owned a business.
