February Class Parties Rescheduled
Our campus has made the decision to move our second party of the year to May instead of the usual February Valentine's Day Party. While our staff will still do some type of activity for the holiday, we will not have our usual full party or exchange paper valentines. We look forward to planning the end of the year party with our room moms.

Reminder: A Note from Our Counselor
During the month of February, our counselor will teach all learners about personal safety using the "Play it Safe" program. "Play it Safe" is a child abuse awareness and prevention program for children. It teaches children to protect themselves by recognizing, reacting to, and reporting potentially dangerous situations, including unsafe and confusing touches.
For more information, please visit the "Play it Safe" website: https://playitsafe.org/index.php. All curriculum materials are available for your viewing during the month of January. Also, feel free to contact me at kmatlock@coppellisd.com if you have any questions.
iPad ChargingPlease ensure that your child is plugging in their iPad when they get home and charging it overnight. We have had an issue with a large group of learners in each class coming to school with their iPad dead. This makes charging at the same time hard and distancing even harder. We would love your help with iPads arriving at school charged.
HEADPHONES!We have lots of kiddos who have lost/broken headphones. Please make sure that your child has a working pair of headphones for school.
Town Center Yearbooks
Our 2020-2021 Town Center Yearbook is now available for purchase. The cost is $25, and they will arrive in the spring. Click here to place your order. **Please note that the yearbook cost Is NOT INCLUDED in the TCE Trail Pass.
What are we learning?
Math: In math, we will be starting our geometry unit. We will begin the unit by reviewing both 2D and 3D shapes and their attributes. We will be giving each learner a set of flash cards to help them practice and memorize these since that is a lot of what geometry is!
Language Arts: We will be taking our Reading MAP on Monday, February 1st!For the rest of the week in reading we will be continuing our character traits unit by exploring the problem and climax of stories and how characters react to them. We will also be studying character relationships, and how minor characters can play larger roles in books.
Science: We will be taking our Science MAP on Thursday, February 4th!This week we will starting a new unit, "Patterns in the sky". We will begin by learning about the sun as our star and continue to learn about the relationship. between the earth, sun, and moon.
Social Studies: In Social Studies, learners will learn the importance of saving money and discuss ways we can save money. They will also explore the effects of Supply and Demand.
