This reading log is due back by February 19th to earn the Six Flags ticket.

It's that time of year to purchase a yearbook for your child. Yearbook cost was NOT part of the Trailpass this year, so the only way to purchase is through balfour.com at a cost of $25.
You can also purchase an ad to appear in the yearbook to make this year extra special. Optional ads come in multiple sizes ranging from $15-$120.
We sold out for the last couple of years, so don't miss out! Yearbook sales end January 18, 2019.

What are we learning?
Math
In math, we will continue to practice identifying multiplication and division word problems and solving them using various strategies. Identifying the correct operation is the most difficult part, so we will talk a lot about the difference between the two. We will continually review multiplication so that everyone is ready for our post test over both multiplication and division on December 14th.
Language Arts
In reading we will continue working on cause and effect. Readers will be using both non fiction and fiction texts to apply their knowledge of cause and effect. We will continue to read different genres in our book clubs. We will also be doing readers theater in class working on our fluency skills.
In writing learners will continue to write using non fiction text features while working on their Social Studies research project. We will also be working on making our writing contain more details and more vivid verbs.
Science
In Science we will explore and record how soils are formed by weathering of rock and the decomposition of plant and animal remains. For next week we are asking that all learners bring in a small sample of soil from around their house or Coppell for us to explore and observe.
